It's a SURPRISE Baby Shower Blog Hop!!!

Surprise, Lisa!
Although, I really hope that you aren't able to read this because your little bundle has arrived...
crossing my fingers for you!!

Today the Paper Makeup Stamps Design Team is throwing a SURPRISE BABY SHOWER for Lisa McKinney. There is a huge, fun blog hop so if you didn't come here from Christi Thorsen's blog, then you need to head on over to the PMS blog and start the hop from the very beginning.

I love the quote on this card...so perfect:
"A new baby is like the beginning of all things- wonder, hope, a dream of possibilities." ~Eda J. LeShan

Supplies used:
*Paper Makeup Stamps Felicity the Fawn
*Paper Makeup Stamps A New Baby
*October Afternoon paper collections

Now you need to hop on over to Bonnie's beautiful blog.

Congratulations, Lisa!!!

Feeling Funky? Embrace it!

It's the last day of the month and that means that this is your final sneak peek of the Unity Stamp Co. August kit of the month before the full reveal tomorrow. Are you excited yet? This is such a fun kit as you can clearly see from today's sneak image....

I embraced the meaning behind the sentiment and tried to simply make a fun and funky card using some seriously OLD patterned paper (one of those first DCWV stacks...the Teen one) and a few random brads sprinkled across the card.

Supplies used:
*Unity Stamp Co. August kit of the month
*DCWV Teen Stack
*Sizzix Labels dies
*Fiskars border punches
*Martha Stewart border punch
*watercolor pencils

Have a great weekend everyone!

*Unity Stamp Co. Build a Damask
*Kraft paper
*Sizzix embossing folder

Hip Hopping with the Sneaks and CHA!!!

We are on day 4 of our Sneak Peeks of the upcoming August kit of the month and glimpses of the new releases that are coming out at CHA from Unity Stamp Co.
Aren't they all awesome?!?!
The releases get better and better....
I have NO IDEA how Angela and her amazingly talented artists continue to do it!?!
Wow!

Today we are Hip Hopping with Miss Melody Ross' gorgeous stylings!
Whooohooo!
I just LOVE her designs and was looking at her latest scrapbooking kit, One Precious Life, and felt the NEED to play with that gorgeous bicycle image.

This is another piece of art for Kat's bathroom area like the piece that I designed last week. I had no idea when I bought this kit that I was going to do Kat's whole bathroom design around it, but I am LOVING these pieces!

This piece measures 12x12 and is in a shadow box frame which I love because I do like to get a little dimensional with my art. ;o)

Supplies used:
*Unity Stamp Co. One Precious Life
*K&Co. paper (purple base and large b&w polkadots)
*Making Memories ledger paper
*MME paper frame
*Tim Holtz book plate
*7gypsies metal tag
*Making Memories journaling piece and ribbon and brads
*Pink Paislee journaling block
*Bo Bunny brad (pink one)
*calendar block (from ??)
*watercolor pencils
*7grrrls (no longer in business) corner punch
***********
We are also still showing sneak peeks from the upcoming August kit of the month and today's image is my favorite from the kit, so I had to create something with it.

I was trying to channel my inner-Eva when I made this card. Hehe! That girl can rock the shabby chic style!

*sigh* I just love stamp images that incorporate ledger paper-looking backgrounds. I think that they speak to my geek-side that loves to get lost in the office supply store. ;o) It makes for such a romantic image, don't you think? Or am I just a total geek? LOL...maybe you shouldn't answer that!

Supplies used:
*Unity Stamp Co. August kit of the month
*October Afternoon Thrift shop paper
*Making Memories flower trim
*Sizzix Die cut
*Fiskars border punch
*KaiserCraft flat-back gem
*Martha Stewart seam binding
*flat back pearls
*pins
*button
*string

Donna and another Sneak....

Ready to see something completely different from me???

How about a bit of something along the lines of Clean & Simple???

I know...can you believe that I made that?!? ;o)

I had plans to make a whole set of them using all 4 stamps from this wonderful new Donna Downey kit, Little Whispers (yes, it's another sneak!), but unfortunately I have spent the last 2 hours trying to get the FWF post on the Unity blog to work for this week (we are having link issues again- i.e. blogger has decided that it hates me!) so I decided I simply needed to get this post up...PRONTO!

Supplies used:
*Unity Stamp Co. Little Whispers
*kraft cardstock
*StazOn jet black ink pad
*Cosmo Cricket DeLovely paper collection
*corner rounder
*ribbon
*flat-backed gems
*zig writer

And today's sneak peek from the August kit of the month...LOVE!

Wait until you see tomorrow's sneak...it's my FAVORITE from this kit! I need to go play with it and see if I can get some actual art done with it...not just the image sneak since tomorrow is HIP HOP!!!
SEE YOU BACK HERE TOMORROW!

Day 2- Late again....hehe!

Sorry!
It's another late post today. We have football practice in the mornings and it is so hard to get life organized around here before afternoon. I guess I am going to have to go back to scheduling posts to keep them on time. LOL!

Today, Unity Stamp Co. is featuring the new Cosmo Cricket releases! OMG!!! There are so many of these (like ALL OF THEM) that are MUST HAVES! Luckily, I received DeLovely Whimsy to play with....

Supplies used:
*Unity Stamp Co. DeLovely Whimsy
*Cosmo Cricket DeLovely 6x6 paper collection
*Fiskars border punch
*Sizzix die cuts
*Basic Grey flat-back pearls
*CTMH Sweet leaf ink pad
*watercolor pencils
*StazOn jet black ink pad
*Zig Writer
*ribbon
*corner rounder

I added just a touch of watercolor pencil detail to help highlight that darling little turtle. I also added the hand-drawn stitched line around the outside edge of the die-cut to help him stand out on the card.

And let's not forget today's GORGEOUS sneak peek image from August's upcoming kit of the month from Unity Stamp co....

Hip HOp!!!

Hiya there, Unity Peeps!
It is Hip Hop day and I am so excited to be saying that because at long-last (and after 7 VERY LONG weeks!) my stamp room is unpacked and functioning for me!!!
YIPPEE!!!
Creative relief...at last!
I will be showing photos soon, but not yet because it is NOT completely decorated yet. ;o)

Speaking of decorating...wanna see this week's project?
I am so excited about this one!
Kat's bedroom and adjoining bathroom in our new house is a cacophony of pinks and purples.
The bathroom is actually three rooms... a private vanity area for her (painted one of those shades of pink/purple- a very bright one), a public vanity area (a more neutral color), and the two areas are adjoined by the toilet/shower room (also neutral).

I have been trying to tie the three rooms together with the decor without being over the top with the pink/purples in the two rooms that are the more public rooms.
Solution- ART!

This is an art piece using that GORGEOUS new Melody Ross scrapbooking kit, One Precious Life. The piece measures 6x12. (The frame was originally a sports team frame.) What I love about this is that it can stand or hang on the wall for versatility esp. since I haven't decided exactly which I want to do with it.

That dream catcher girl stamp just makes my heart go pitter-pat. I think that I need a piece of art featuring her in every room in the house. ;o)

Supplies used:
*Unity Stamp Co./Melody Ross- One Precious Life scrapbooking kit
*Pink Paislee paper collection
*StazOn Jet black ink pad
*Martha Stewart border punch
*black buttons
*Fiskars scallop border punch

7 weeks and counting...

7 weeks.
7 weeks is how long it has been since we moved into the hotel in Illinois.
7 weeks of living in transition.
7 weeks of suitcases, remodeling, packing and unpacking.
7 weeks of truly exhausting days.
7 weeks of pure moving craziness.
7 weeks.
It's a long time to make excuses for the things that aren't getting done...
laundry.
dt work.
cooking.
Kat's bathtime.
(she has bathed a few times during that 7 weeks just not as regularly as she needs.)
grocery shopping.
hair dying- grey roots BIG time!
vacuuming.
blogging.
blog-hopping.
dt obligations.
working out.

But this my reality.
My craft room at this very moment...

We are getting there, but after 7 weeks, it just doesn't seem fast enough.

I am ready to be through.
Through unpacking boxes.
Through painting (no the kitchen isn't quite done yet.)
Through with this transitional phase.

I want my creative time back.
I want my workout time back.
I want to have the time (and energy) to make something in the kitchen that's healthy AND tastes good.

We're close...so close to being done.
Just have patience with me for a few more days.
