Friday Fun & Friends with Flair

Today's Friday Fun Challenge came from Kim:
19th - working retail this time of year is insane and I won't get a free moment to myself until January.  So, today's challenge is ANYTHING goes.  Showcase your style, a favorite stamp, etc....just have FUN!!

Since I am still working on my goal of using every single DT stamp this month, I pulled out my Unity Stamp Co. kit of the month, Picture Perfect, to use a couple of stamps that I hadn't gotten inky yet...

I took my color scheme from this week's PlayDate Cafe Color challenge:

In the photos, the blue looks more of a royal color, but it is a turquoise in real life. ;o) Although, I will admit that I have worked and reworked this card several times so it could simply be that my perception is off at this point...LOL!

Supplies used:
*Unity Stamp Co. Picture Perfect
*watercolor pencils
*Palette burnt umber inkpad
*Creative Cafe buttons
*martha stewart border punch
*Nestabilities Labels die
*October Afternoon paper
*kraft cardstock
*jute string

Be sure to go check out what the rest of the FFC girls created for today's challenge:

Hanging around Hip Hop!

Good morning, Unity Peeps!!!

Can you believe all of the amazing things happening around Unity Stamp Co. lately?!?!

I am so excited about all the amazing new co-branding...Websters Pages!!! *sigh* I just love their designs! PLUS all of the co-branded stamps are now available to buy on the Unity site!! Whoohooo! No more having to shop at several different stores just to find all the kits that you want!

So are you making your wish list for dh??? ;o)

And of course, this week there is that awesome sale going on with FREE SHIPPING!! Look for all the details on the Unity blog...

And the new Ippity stamp release!?!
Those dt girls have been ROCKING those new kits...I can't wait to get hold of those stamps!

For today's hop, we were supposed to create ornaments or child's craft project. I went with ornaments, but mine are a dual-purpose ornament. Remember my Halloween tree? Well, I was looking at it this week and realized that it was still decorated...for Halloween!?! *oops* So it was time to do something about that. I decided to decorate it with tags...little 2 1/2"x 3 1/2" ATC-sized ones.

That way whenever someone wraps a present, they can just go grab a tag off the tree to attach to it. In the meantime, we can still enjoy them on the tree.  (I will add more as I make them.)

All of the tags used these basic products:
*Unity Stamp Co. Holiday Bundle
*K&Company Yuletide paper collection
*bakers twine
*Martha Stewart punches
*kraft card stock
*Marvy Uchida circle punches
*Nestabilities dies
*glitter
*flatback gems
*CTMH cranberry inkpad
*Palette burnt umber inkpad

All of the designs are very basic...just simple stamping. When we place them on a package, we will simply write the "to-from" on the back of them.

BTW, some of you had asked...the tree base is called The Tree of Life and is manufactured by Advantus. Mine came from Archivers last year.

Can you believe both of these gorgeous holiday kits for only $25?!?! LOVE me some Unity...esp. when it's a great bargain! ;o)

Now you need to hop on over to ***Julie's beautiful blog*** to see what she has to share with you this week.

CASE'ing Betsy & some super-fun Unity NEWS!!!

There are lots and LOTS of card designers out there whose style inspires me daily. One of those happens to be Betsy Veldman. I love her shabby chic style and am constantly amazed at her gorgeous creations and the beautiful color combinations that she uses. This week she posted a card that was love at first site for me, so I made an attempt at CASE'ing her card.

Her original card is soooo beautiful! You absolutely have to go check out her card so you can drool a little bit yourself over it's beauty. I adapted her design to the stamps and papers that I had and it just lost a bit of something in translation, but that's okay. If you just pretend that you hadn't seen her original, gorgeous design, then this card is okay. ;o)

Supplies used:
*Unity Stamp Co. Christmas in the Kitchen (S. Walker- NOW available from the Unity site!!)
*Unity Stamp Co. Snowflakes Fall From Heaven (Jillibean Soup)
*K&Company paper collection
*CTMH inkpads- Cranberry, Sweet Leaf, Crystal Blue

*Martha Stewart chunky glitter
*flatback gems
