Inspirational Quote
One of the things that we are supposed to do as part of our Tuesday DT posts is to share a quote we love. I have this one stored on my Pinterest boards and just love it....

My Announcement:
...and that brings me to my announcement.
You'll notice that I'm not going to be around quite so much over the next little while. I'll still be here, but probably working more in the background and less on the art side, because....

I am doing what I love.
Writing.

Today, my author website and
my author Facebook page went live.

I'm writing romantic suspense and my first book,
Operation: Endgame, will be available Sept, 2012.

National Scrapbooking Day....

Seriously, I scrapbooked for over 15 years and have 25 HUGE, FULL albums.
I have no more room for scrapbook layouts.
It just means Kat will have no memories of her childhood while Jacob has EVERYTHING documented. The curse of being the second child.

So for today's celebration I made a card.

*K&Co shaped paper
*Pink Paislee paper
*CTMH Crystal blue ink pad
*Martha Stewart flat back gems
*Marvy Uchida scallop circle punch
*Colorbox Navy blue ink pad
*Martha Stewart border punch

Writing on Wednesday: Time to switch the binders

I organize my writing in loose-leaf binders.
It can get fairly crazy because at any given time, my writing table pretty much looks like this...

Not so pretty, but all those binders mark a LOT of work in my life
and it gives me a warm fuzzy feeling just to look at them.

Another thing that gives me a warm fuzzy feeling is when it's time to switch the binders.
Yesterday was that day.

All of my books start out in a little 1/2" binder like that one on top.
Then as the book gets bigger, they slowly creep up in page count until they need the 1 1/2" binder.
Yesterday Operation: Endeavor moved to the 1 1/2" binder (30,000 words so far.)
AND Unity Found made it's way into a 1/2" binder (3000 words so far.)

Hehe...I haven't told you about Unity Found yet have I??

It's a new novella which I hope to finish pretty quickly.
It was inspired by this photo of the hero, Tod, and our discussion of him on the Unity DT private page.

Tod is an outdoor outfitter on the Boundary Waters area of Minnesota.

Lila, the heroine, is a wildlife photographer needing an outdoor guide for her BoundaryWaters photo shoot.

Serendipity definitely comes into play when these two hook up. It's a fun little book and I am having just a blast writing it. It's fun to write something short and flirty for a change in pace.

Hipping into Thursday!

Hip Hop Girlies!!
It's Thursday and it's time to party Unity-style.

I had big plans for playing with my Kit of the Month for today's post, but then my Mac mouse died...kind of. It points, but it doesn't click. Did you realize you can't do anything with a computer if you can't click??? And unfortunately, that's the only computer that talks with my camera, but now I have to order a new mouse from Apple.

Long story right?? So instead of new art, I am going to show you my piece I made for this month's challenge. Do you play the challenges?? If not, you should! Big prizes involved! Plus it's fun!

This month's challenge was to use Pink, Green, and Cream in a card....

Supplies used:
*Unity Stamp Co. Little Girl Believes
*Prima paper collection
*trim
*watercolor pencils
*StazOn jet black inkpad
*flat back gems
*Nestabilities Lables die cute

Once upon a time....

Once upon a time there was a beautiful little Princess.
Normally she was a sweet and lovely child.
But one horrible day, she decided to disobey the Queen's edicts.
As a result, she was punished and was very sad indeed.

But at her heart, she was a Good Little Princess.
Not once did she complain about her punishment.
In fact, she tried to see the good in the circumstances.
The Queen was impressed with her strength and positivity.

As a result, the next day, the Queen wanted to do something to uplift the Little Princess.
A gorgeous, glittery card featuring the Princess was just the way to her heart.
The card was much appreciated by the Princess and it made her smile.
It was a beautiful smile. Just like the Princess.

The End.

My Princess had a hard day yesterday,
so this card was created especially (and extra glittery) just for her.

Supplies used:
*Bo Bunny paper collection
*watercolor pencils
*misc. bling
*misc. glitter
*Martha Stewart border punch
*Nestabilities labels die

Have a great day everyone!
smiles,
