Getting ready for Christmas with FFC...

If you are looking for my surprise baby shower Paper Makeup Stamps post, it is located below this one.

I love today's Friday Fun Challenge that came to us from Kim:
12th - Last year I made AJ's accordian file folder to use as a gift wish list for my kids & nieces.  It went into my purse and everyone in the stores stopped me to ask where I got it.  So, using AJ's tutorial on SCS, I want you to make one.  You can make it as a wish list, put pictures in it, or make it a book about YOU!

I have wanted to try this project ever since I saw it last year so was very excited to get going on it. For my accordion file, I decided to make it as a Christmas gift for my 11 yo niece. I plan on giving her a gift card to the bookstore for Christmas so this file full of bookmarks will make a nice little accompaniment to the card.

For my file folder, I used an acrylic file folder from Target. It gives the project a little bit of a different look that is fun, although it takes a LOT more creasing and working to get the folder to fold correctly.

For the cover, I used this fabulous Ippity kit, Books a Flutter.

I left the tab intact on the folder and added these Cosmo Cricket stickers to say, "Just Read."

My nieces favorite color is turquoise so that determined the color scheme of the entire project.

^ That picture right there ^ just makes me happy. :o) I adore pretty bookmarks and these are some of my favorites that I have ever made. hmmm, I may just have to make another set for Emily... ;o)

All the stamps for the bookmarks are from Paper Makeup Stamps. They have some great teen-styled and reading stamps which were perfect for this project.

BTW, someone had asked me where I get my bookmark sleeves. I have had these for years and years. Like about 8-9 years in fact. I ordered them by accident when I was a CTMH consultant. I thought that I was ordering the flimsy acrylic bags that you show your projects in on demo boards. I was shocked when these came in ...and I had 100 of them!?! I have since come to love them and only have about 20 of them left. I am going to have to find another resource for them before I run out.

Stamp: Paper Makeup Stamps Moody for Fun

The coloring on the Moody's is done with my watercolor pencils. You should be able to click on them to get them larger to see the coloring in more detail.

Also, my niece is a GORGEOUS red-head so I had to color my Moody Girls with equally gorgeous red locks...but Em's isn't dipped in black like the Moody below (but isn't that the coolest effect!?!) ;o)
