Happy Happy Hip Hop!!!

Good morning to all my Unity Stamp Co. Peeps!

Today is another JV Football day around here...
AWAY game...
which means that I once again am going to miss chit-chatting with you girls.
:o(
I love my boy, but geez, football is seriously cutting into my hip hop time...NOT GOOD!

The good news is that today's game is close to the rest of my family so all the grandparents, cousins, and aunts & uncles (from my side of the family) get to come out and cheer Jacob on as he plays (hopefully, it is not a benchwarmer kind of night...hehe!)

But that's enough sports chat...lets talk us up some STAMPING!

This first card started out following this week's sketch, but it seriously MORPHED from the original layout. Sometimes you just have to go with where your creative muse leads you and hang on for the ride.

I used another new Melody Ross kit, Domestic Bliss...LOVE this kit!!!
{psst, the plan is to use this kit again for tomorrow's project...that is if my creative muse agrees with my plan as I see it in my head...hehe!}

I used a tiny bit of Diamond Glaze and ultra fine glitter to give a tiny bit more dimension to the jar vase of the stamp.

Supplies used:
*Unity Stamp Co. Domestic Bliss
*October Afternoon Fly a Kite paper collection
*ribbon (hobby lobby)
*Martha Stewart border punch
*corner rounder
*Palette burnt umber ink pad
*buttons
*brown burlap floss
*Diamond Glaze
*prisma glitter

For my second card, I basically CASE'd an earlier card that I created a few months back...

A super, sweet and simple card. I need to make up a whole bunch of these just to have on hand to send out.

Supplies used:
*Unity Stamp Co. Little Whispers
*Cosmo Cricket 6x6 Pixielicious paper collection
*Kraft card stock
*StazOn Jet black ink pad
*MM velvet ribbon
*flat-backed gems
*Fiskars border punch

Now you need to hop on over to Stephanie's beautiful blog...

A fun bit of paper piecing....

One of the Paper Crafts calls recently was for paper piecing. I had created a couple of paper-pieced Paper Makeup Stamps cards that weren't accepted and this is one of them...Moody for Showers.

I used the new Cosmo Cricket winter collection, Mitten Weather, (yes, those patterned papers are a winter collection!)

Supplies used:
Stamps: Paper Makeup Stamps Moody For Showers, Paper Makeup Stamps Life is Either a Daring...
Patterned Paper: Cosmo Cricket Mitten Weather 6x6
Punches: EK Success Corner Rounder, EK Success Chinese Knot Chain Edger
Inkpad: StazOn Jet Black
Cardstock: PTI Kraft, Georgia-Pacific White, Bazzill Red
Watercolor pencils: Derwent
Embossing Folder: Cuttlebug Swiss Dot

In other news, I feel like I am already a day behind this week. How did that happen? It wasn't a holiday week, but Ben did get back in town yesterday so that is probably what has thrown me off. So today, I am trying to catch up on all the things (i.e. the CLEANING) that I didn't get done yesterday...LOL!

Put Your Brave Girl Boots On!

It's Hip Hop Thursday!!!
How are all my Unity Stamp Co. Peeps?!?

Do you all have your Brave Girl Boots on? Don't know what I am talking about? Then you have to go check out the Brave Girl Boots link. I just got this new kit in this week and am IN LOVE with this stamp kit! I am sure that it helps that I now live in Texas!

I have been dying to make one of these banners and when I saw this new stamp set, a plan was set in motion for a bit of new artwork to hang in my stamp room....

This piece is big...9x12 for the main piece, not counting any of the bead fringe or hanging parts.

The tag above is a normal shipping tag simply dyed with Glimmer Mist (maybe verdigris? I'd have to check the actual color... I dyed the tag a LONG time ago...LOL!)

There is a lot going on in this collage and I pulled out one of my favorite Unity butterflies ever....the one from the July Store kit of the month...simply colored with watercolor pencils and pearls for the body.

Like I said, a LOT going on, including lots of little words/phrases put on there to encourage me to stay brave.

A Couple of Paper Makeup Challenges

As a part of the Paper Makeup Stamps release party (which was yesterday...so all NEW stamps up in the shop!!!) there are a couple of challenges issued with prizes on the line. Last night I had one hour to stamp before the party started so I tackled both challenges at once (please note, that to be eligible to win in both of the challenges, you have to create 2 separate cards, BUT since I am not eligible to win, I figured I could bend the rules...haha!)

Challenge #1:

Your color challenge is:   Pink, Aqua, and Chocolate

All participants of this challenge will be entered to win a $15 voucher towards any stamps of your choice!!  You have a week from today to get your entries in and Wednesday, September 15th. Christi will announce the winners on the Paper Makeup blog!!

When you upload your cards to SCS/PCP please use keyword PMSRPCC0910

Challenge #2:

And here is my card that I created for these two challenges...

I used one of the new sentiments from the new kit, When There's Nothing Left to Say. These sentiments are pure-brilliance....I can think of so many times when I need a sentiment like this for a card and as far as I know, there is nothing else out here as perfect as these are. Katie designed them brilliantly!!!

Kat is a Paper Makeup Stamps Fairy!

Today's the day!
The day that the newest release from Paper Makeup Stamps goes live on the website (tonight during the release party which is at 8:00 CST.)

Did you come here from Dawn's blog??? If not, you need to head on over to the PMS blog so that you can get your discount code in the correct order for the release party tonight!

There was something a little more special about this release... Did you all notice???
There was a KAT FAIRY!!!
:o)

How cute is she with her fun little pinwheel?!?!

My little Kat dictated the colors of which to color the Kat Fairy so, of course, she had to be purple (Kat's favorite color!)

Supplies used:
*Paper Makeup Stamps Kat Fairy (releasing tonight)
*Paper Makeup Stamps Little Moments (releasing tonight)
*BoBunny paper collection
*StazOn jet black inkpad
*watercolor pencils
*ribbon
*Fiskars border punch
*Nestabilities Lacey Circles die cut

On the photo above, I was trying to show the glitter highlights that I added to the Kat Fairy's hair. I think that you will have to click on the photo to see the details though.

I also used one of the new sentiments from the new Little Moments set. How absolutely perfect are all those little sentiments....PERFECT!

And you had to know that I couldn't show a Kat Fairy card without some photos of my own little Kat fairy...

Now you need to head on over to

Oh, and don't forget your letter before you go...

Learning Something New....

Good morning!
It's a fabulous Friday morning.
We had storms move through last night which have brought a new crisp-ness to the air...
autumn is coming!
I love that!!!

Today for our Friday Fun Challenge, Sara gave us this challenge:

9/3 - Something Old/Something New - Use something in you haven't broken
outta the rapper yet & something that you haven't used in quite a while

I am starting Shimelle's Learn Something New Everyday class for September so I took this challenge to heart when creating my album cover...

There are a couple of products on here that I have never used or opened the package on...that gorgeous 7gypsies book cover and the bling on the rings. Then for old, there is that old clock face that I have easily had a couple of years and the red tag is also very old.

Supplies used:
*Unity Stamp Co. All You Need (frame)
*7gypsies book cover
*7gypsies ring dangles
*Fresh paint paper (red)
*Martha Stewart border punch
*MM ledger paper, adventure sticker, and acrylic clock face
*MME tag and label (from patterned paper)
*K&Co journaling spot
*Recollections bling

Hip Hopping into September....

I think that my levels of procrastination have hit an all new level...it's 11:45 pm and this post has to go live in 15 minutes...nothing like cutting it close. LOL! BUT I did make 2 projects for you (and there is actually a third that is almost complete on my stamp table,) so maybe that is okay.

My goal over the next couple of weeks is to give some inky love to some stamp kits that I received over the summer that I didn't have time to appreciate to their full capacity because of our move.

And that brings us to my first project today...a card featuring the stamp kit, Just Be You. I adore that bird image...isn't it gorgeous?!?

Supplies used:
*Unity Stamp Co. Just Be You
*MME paper
*Martha Stewart seam binding
*Creative Imaginations brad
*Prima flower
*Fresh Paint paper (red)
*Martha Stewart border punch
*StazOn Jet Black Ink pad
*journaling spot

************
My second project is a 12 x12 layout featuring some photos of my mom and Kat that were taken a couple of years ago that have been printed, but just never scrapbooked. That's the way that I roll...I felt the urge tonight to play with them. ;o)
There are a couple of different stamps on here. That big flower down in the lower right is one of the new Donna Downey stamps...I love the size and design of it. There are 4 flower stamps in this kit and they are all A-MAZING! I need to make some cards so that you can see the detail and words in the others....so gorgeous and such fabulous designs.

Most of the papers and embellishments here are MME's new lines.
supplies used:
*Unity Stamp Co. One Precious Life (journaling frame)
*Unity Stamp Co. Be Bold (flower)
*MME paper and embellishments
*Scenic Route alpha stickers
*Martha Stewart border punch
*MM ledger paper
*Palette Burnt umber inkpad
*brown seam binding
*button

And did you see this?!? OMG, LOVE!
