Fun little Umbrella Card Set...

Are y'all enjoying your weekend so far? Hopefully, I am...right now I should be somewhere in Missouri enjoying the great outdoors on our family vacation and I really hope that we are not having to use too many of these...umbrellas, this weekend!

This is actually the umbrella from the beach kit from Unity called Beach Days & Sun Rays, but I loved the style of it so I cut the beach parts off of it so that I could use it entirely as an umbrella.

I think that it makes for a really fun little gift card set to give to a friend. I was highly inspired by a set that Jennifer McGuire had made when I created the style of these cards.

Supplies used:
*Unity Stamp Co. Beach Days and Sun Rays
*Unity Stamp Co. Distressed Dots
*Unity Stamp Co. Fresh Beginnings (April kit of the month)
*K&Company Mira papers
*StazOn black and white inkpads
*brads
*Bazzill Kraft paper
*Zig Writer

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and try to find some time to create today!!

Fancy Kat...

Today has been an absolute manic day! We leave on vacation tomorrow so I am running around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to get everything done (including scheduling a whole bunch of blog posts so maybe it won't seem like a ghost town in here.)

At the last minute this morning, DH decided that we needed to just breakdown and buy our new computer (our mainframe computer died in the move in July and we have been overloading our laptop ever since.) So we are now the owners of an iMac. I wasn't too sure if I really wanted to switch to a Mac, but I think that it will be good...and it looks awfully pretty sitting here on the floor since I have too much to do on the computer before we leave and NO TIME for a learning curve...so I continue to type away on the laptop.

I have a quick layout to share with you today. These photos are from yesterday of Kat playing dress-up...

I don't know if you have heard of the Fancy Nancy books, but they are about a little girl who thinks that everything can be done better when there are ruffles, bows, or bling involved...even better if her outfit includes ALL of the above so I thought the name Fancy Kat would work well for this layout.

Supplies used:
*Unity Stamp Co. Fresh Beginnings (April kit of the month)
*MME paper (base)
*Websters Pages paper (strip on left)
*AC glitter thickers
*Imaginisce paper (paper under Shine stamp)
*Fancy Pants paper (butterflies)
*Bazzill Cardstock
*stazon jet black inkpad
*MM ribbon
*watercolor pencils
*Martha Stewart punches (border and butterfly)
*Martha Stewart flat-backed gems

It's a Mojo Monday...on Tuesday!!!

I am absolutely and totally in love....with a sketch site! I love the Mojo Monday sketches!!! They are just so perfectly done! So last night, in between Pathwords games on Facebook, I created a card using yesterday's MojoMonday sketch (#81.)

Because this week's Exercise is Rain/water, I decided to play with this absolutely fabulous kit from Unity Stamp Co, Rain & Flowers.

Supplies used:
*Unity Stamp Co. Rain & Flowers
*Unity Stamp Co. Fresh Beginnings (flowers behind sentiment)
*Webster's Pages paper
*Making Memories copper brads & velvet ribbon
*corner rounder
*pop dots
*watercolor pencils
*Memories inkpad
*Marvy Uchida oval punches
*brown & white cardstock

I hope that things are starting to warm up in your world. After a bit of snow here yesterday, we see the sun shining once again and it's starting to look a bit more like Spring (again!)

She's a Shoe Girl!

I created this layout over the weekend about Kat's obsessions with shoes...

The journaling says, "Kat loves shoes. Nothing will cause a meltdown in a store faster than not buying her shoes. We had her in new shoes one day and realized that they were rubbing blisters on her feet. When we took them off of her, she threw a fit...not because they hurt, but because she wanted to keep wearing her new pretty shoes!"

Last week's EYC exercise was to play with fonts/text so I created the title for this layout on my computer using different fonts for a fun look.

Supplies used:
*Unity Stamp Co. Fresh Beginnings (April kom- swirl on tag)
*Unity Stamp Co. Simple Life (flowers)
*Unity Stamp Co. Birdie Inspiration (journaling blocks)
*EK Success paper (green)
*Pink Paislee paper (shaped brown polkadot)
*AC paper (flower and striped circles)
*MME paper (bright pink circle)
*Creative Cafe tag
*3 Bugs in a Rug Love Sticker

Good HiP-HoPping morning!!

Are you having fun with all the baby-inspired cuteness today?
For my baby photo this morning, I thought that I would share a bit of
retro-cowboy-chubby-leg-chic...

...and no, I never grew out of those legs...LOL!

We were supposed to do baby inspired projects today, but I just was not in a baby blue and pink mood last night so my card is a bit brighter. It could work as a baby card or really for any celebratory occasion in the Spring. The layout is based on this week's SCS sketch (#SC222.)

Supplies used:
*Unity Stamp Co. April kit...Fresh Beginnings
*Making Memories Chloe's Closet papers
*Martha Stewart border punch
*ribbon
*brads
*watercolor pencils
*StazOn Jet Black inkpad

Now you need to hop on over to Heather M's blog...

April 1st- All New Unity Fun!!!

The first of the month always brings fun new things to Unity Stamp Co!

We get the actual reveal of the new kit of the month for April...

Don't you love all those gorgeous stamps?
How the heck do these kits continue to get better and better?!?!

We get to meet our new Guest Designer...Welcome to Julie Campbell!!!

And this month, it also brings the introduction of an All-New Contest!

Each month some of our design team members will be participating in a challenge with the new KOTM. Starting in May we will be opening this challenge to you, the Unity customer! Would you like to be a guest designer? This is your chance! What do you need to play? The KOTM! Your first opportunity to enter will be May the first and you will need the April KOTM to play. Are you game?.... Watch this thread for more details!!

Are you up for the challenge?!? There could be a guest DT spot just for you!!! The kit of the month and some creativity is all you need so be sure that you sign up for the kit! I can't wait to see what all you come up with! It's going to be a fabulous contest!!

For today, we decided to start gearing up for new challenges, so Jennifer Buck issued the DT a challenge to apply to the April kom...
1.) a spring themed card/or Layout
2.) using the colors pink, blue, green, and yellow
3.) and adding sewing on the card...either faux or real

And now I will share what I did for the contest using the A
pril kit of the month...a layout!
This is a photo that I took last Friday under the dogwood trees that are blooming out on base. I used 3 stamps out of the April kit (butterfly, birdie branch, and butterfly flower silhouettes) and cheated a little book and took the "a day to remember" stamp out of last month's kit.
Supplies Used:
*Unity Stamp Co.
*Unity Stamp Co. Simple Life
*Pink Paislee paper (pink background) and alpha stickers
*K&Co. papers (blues)
*Webster's pages paper (photo mat)
*MM journaling piece
*Bazzill ribbon
*Martha Stewart border punch
*embroidery floss

Now go check out what the rest of the girls did with this challenge...
