Hello on a Saturday Morning!

I love Saturday mornings!

For about one hour every Saturday morning,
we get true, quality family time
with all of 4 of us sitting down together and chatting.
It's crazy and chaotic esp. with the two year old
in the mix trying to get her Daddy to chase her through the computer,
but it is wonderful.

I love skype!

This is going to be another one of those random posting days...hehe!

First up, just some random photos of the kids from the last couple of weeks.

I love these two kids so much and marvel at the fact that they still have a true sibling style relationship even with the 12 year difference. She worships the ground he walks on, but in true girl-fashion, she will never let him know it. It is almost funny. She makes him grovel for even the littlest hug, but the world has ended if he forgets to hug and kiss her before he leaves for school.
He has also been a true saint since Ben left, taking her so that I can have a little bit of downtime... even when she is being horrendous (and she acts up MUCH WORSE with him than with me) so it really is a sacrifice from him that I truly appreciate.

She definitely keeps things lively. I am amazed at the little person that she is becoming. And she is smart... can already count to 19 with a vocabulary that astounds me.

This is her silly face and one of her most favorite things to do right now...hehe! Definitely not helping those chapped lips right now though.

We have been slowly working on all of her new bedding for her bed. She is obsessed with the sewing machine and will sit there forever "reading the instructions" (trying to figure out what all the symbols and knobs do.)

She loves to build tents and create an imaginary world within them. This day she was enjoying being "queen of her castle"...

These are a couple of cards that I had done for the unity blog a couple of weeks ago. I like to have everything on the blog here so that I can keep track of things like my supply lists and projects for submission purposes.

Both of these cards followed that same basic layout design that I created with THIS card set.
Supplies used:
*Unity Stamp Co. Savor the Journey
*Cosmo Cricket papers
*Cuttlebug embossing folder
*Palette Burnt Umber inkpad
*Nestabilities scallop ovals
*watercolor pencils
*******

Again, this card uses that same basic layout, I just turned it on it's side and used a different Nestability. I love that stylized flower, but wanted it to have a bit more dimension that straight stamping so I inked it up first in green ink, then rolled the edges into red ink, and then rolled the edges again (with a lighter hand) into brown ink. It gives a really cool effect and is great for images like this. {you might need to click on it to really see the effects of all the colors}
Supplies used:
*Unity Stamp Co. Savor the Journey
*K&Company paper
*Nestabilities Labels 4 diecut
*Cuttlebug Swiss Dot embossing folder
*KaiserCraft flat-back pearl
*CTMH Sweet leaf & cranberry inkpads
*Palette Burnt Umber inkpad

Well, I am off to go Skype with Ben and then the kids and I are going to go do a bit of shopping at the bookstore and Target. Happy Saturday everyone!!

What a lovely post, Christi! I thoroughly enjoyed reading about your children. My brother was 9 years older than me and was much like your son. We got along so well despite the age difference. We always had a special relationship. I even have a picture similar to the one you posted of the two of your children. I had on a coat with a furry trim, too! Unfortunately, he died 12 years ago from cancer, and I miss him dearly. Thanks so much for sharing this...it brought back some fond memories.
