Final Blog Post of 2009....

Not only is it Unity Thursday, but we are also finishing up with the sneak peeks of the new January kit of the month. Aren't you loving what you are seeing? Another FANTASTIC kit!!!

When I saw today's stamp, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it. I have been saving this photo ever since I took it this summer because I knew that I wanted to do something special with it and when I saw this stamp, I knew that it was perfect.
The journaling says, "Scout Camp- Summer 2009 This photo was taken moments after we arrived for family night at Scout camp. He had been gone for 4 days and the look of utter adoration tells it all. She missed her big brother. Jacob-age 14; Kat-age 2"

Everything on this layout besides the Adore stamp came from Limelight Papercrafts. Mandy is running some super-fun sales this week and has tons of new product coming in, so you may want to go check out what is happening over there...
Supplies used:
*Unity Stamp Co. January kom
*Unity Stamp Co. The Artist in You
*Jillibean Soup Journaling Sprouts
*buttons
*corner rounder
*CTMH Cocoa inkpad
*Marvy Uchida scallop circle punch
*jute twine

And Don't Forget....
Today is the last day
to get all of those cute

Favorites of 2009....

I had plans to do a whole week of Favorites blog posts (favorite photos, favorite scrapbooking products, favorite stamps, etc), but looking at my DT schedule for the next couple of weeks, the whole blog here is booked so I may just slide these in at random days so that I have double-post days...

I thought that it might be fun to share some of my favorite general-product discoveries from this year. These are not in any specific order, although they are numbered...

No, I didn't just discover amazon this year, but what I did just discover this year was their recommendations tab. When you purchase books from amazon, it starts to build a recommendation database based upon what you have bought. I have found some fabulous books this way this year that I never would have discovered otherwise. I LOVE this feature and is even a fun way to kill an afternoon when I can't get into the real bookstore to browse....

screenshot of today's recommendations for me

Ben and I have been working out to Beachbody workouts ever since he came back from Iraq in 2008. In January of this year, we began doing Chalene Xtreme and I fell in love with the interval workout that she had on there which is more of an aerobic style workout. Something that Ben doesn't really enjoy so I decided to do her TurboJam workouts when he deployed. I LOVE these...they are so much fun. It truly is not a hardship to stop my day and do them!!!

I discovered this scent this year from Bath & Body works. It is feminine without being fruity or too heavy. It is my new everyday go-to scent. I use both the lotion and body spray almost everyday.

This is my haircolor now. It's a stay-at-home coloring system, but it is the first one that I have ever found that colors the grey and the grey STAYS COLORED...FOREVER!! The highlight system also gives it a really natural-looking shade of auburn that doesn't get those purplish shades that a lot of reds give to brunettes.

I bet you didn't see this one coming did you? hehe! These are one of my favorite new snacks of 2009. They are super thick and creamy and at only 100 calories...a pretty guilt-free snack. I haven't tried it yet, but I am betting these will be amazing frozen. I just have to stop eating them and put some in the freezer before they are all gone.

This was my DVD discovery thanks to netflix's recommendation system. This was a mini-series on ITV (UK). It is so, so good!!! After watching my netflix version of it, I immediately got online and ordered myself the dvd so I could watch it anytime I want. It's about a modern-day-girl in England who is obsessed with Darcy from Pride&Prejudice to the point where real life just doesn't match up. She ends up changing places with Elizabeth Bennett through her bathroom wall and going into the story. It's totally entertaining, poignant, and enchanting. If you love Pride & Prejudice, I guarantee you will LOVE this movie!!!!

I will admit, this is a series that I did not pick up on my own (and probably never would have because of the demon aspect.) I received the first book (which happened to be book 3 in the series) through a blog giveaway. Read it and immediately ordered the first 2 in the series and book 4 (which comes out in Jan) is already on pre-order. These books are amazing!!! Definitely my favorites from the whole year (and I have easily read 150-200 books this year.) This world is so well-thought out with amazing character development. Miss Ione is an INCREDIBLE writer!!! warning: they are VERY spicy, but if you like that I would say that you NEED THESE BOOKS on your bookshelf!

This is a new product which I just picked up a couple of weeks ago, but I am already sold on how good it works. I'll be honest, I am not much of a moisturizer user, but with winter's arrival, I found myself needing some help so I picked up this product. Not only does it moisturize without feeling heavy, but it really does even out your skin tones. As I have gotten older, I have had some issues with ruddiness, but after putting this on, it looks like I have applied foundation (it is completely untinted too.) I should also note that I have VERY sensitive skin and have not had ANY problems with using Neurtogena products.

I am a stay at home mom and pretty much live in tee's. This year I discovered that Old Navy offers tees in Tall sizes online. I don't need tall sizes (I am 5'6"), but I like the extra length that these give you in the torso and esp. in the long sleeve versions. I LOVE having my tees just a bit longer in the arm length. So comfy!!!

I hope that you enjoyed this little visit of my favorite products of 2009. I will have another list posted sometime in the next couple of days!

Playing a bit of Catch-Up!

warning: today's blog post is going to be all over the place. ;o)
**********

I am feeling a bit overwhelmed today.

In the last month or so, I took on several new obligations:
*Friday Fun Challenge

I have no doubt that I can manage doing them all, but right now I feel like I am constantly forgetting something. So, today, I am organizing my calendars and check-lists so that I am sure to stay on top of things/obligations/DT's.
**********

I also have several fun things that I want to share with you all on the blog over the next few days...a few favorite's lists from 2009, a revisit of my to-do resolutions by age 40 (August) list, etc.

So today is my day to get organized and get my thoughts in order.
**********

But first, I have a Paper Makeup Stamps share that I have needed to post since Friday!?! (see, I NEED to get organized!!!)

Every Friday, over on the PMS blog, there is a Makeup for the weekend challenge. Last week's challenge was to create a Christmas/holiday scrapbooking page.

I don't have any of the PMS Christmas stamps (I know, what is up with that?!? I think that I need to go shopping...) so I had to get a bit creative with my page. I have had this quote from PMS for a while about being a mother of a little girl, but hadn't figured out exactly what I wanted to do with it, but then I found these photos of Kat and me from last Christmas and inspiration struck. {click on the layout to see the details better!}

Supplies used:
*Paper Makeup Stamps Jaina Fairy
*Paper Makeup Stamps Whoever Said Fairies
*Paper Makeup Stamps Dream Big Set (swirl on ticket)
*Bazzill Kraft paper
*Basic Grey papers
*Tim Holtz Ticket
*Prima bling
*Nestabilities Labels 4 die cut
*Derwent watercolor pencils
*Palette Black Noir inkpad
*Making Memories acrylic journaling paper (snowflake overlay at the top)
*Fancy Pants journaling piece
*Creative Cafe red tag
*Fiskars border punch

Feel free to play along with the challenge. We like it when everyone plays!!!

The details:
You do not have to use Paper Makeup Stamps to play along but if you've got them why not use them! When you play along be sure to link up your creations to Mr. Linky on the PMS blog post using a direct link to your card and when you upload to SCS/PCP please use keyword M4TW09 so we can see your creations there as well!

Christmas Week H-Ippity Hop!!

Hello Ippity Peeps!!!
If you are here and have no idea what that phrase above means, go check out the details HERE and then you can come back around in a bit! ;o)

I am not sure what to say about this card, except for "It's growing on me." LOL!

Believe it or not, this started out as a Clean & Simple card, but if you have been around here for long, you know that is not really my style so I just couldn't handle all the white space on the card.

Originally the base card was just that...a plain white base card, but the kit that I used on this, Because of You, has that great Love collage stamp and I thought that it would help break up all the white space.

So now I am just calling it a collage card, because there is a LOT going on there. LOL!

Supplies used:
*MME papers (from the Unity Collage kit last month)
*Marvy Uchida scallop circle punches
*brads
*Palette Black Noir inkpad
*flat-backed black gems
*ribbon
*pop-dots

Be sure to go check out all the inspiration from the other girls on the blog hop...
