Kat's Bedroom

Okay, it's another day of showing off the new house.

I seriously need a professional photographer to come do this for me. Our house is surrounded by huge trees (which I love), but they make the house have seriously bad lighting. As a result, the photos are a mix of over-exposed flash photos and yellowed non-flash photos. *ugh* Again, this just reinforces that I NEED a photography class!!!

They are not great photos, but if you click on them, they do look a *little* bit better.

Today I am sharing Kat's room. With the move, she inherited Jacob's bunk bed/futon combo. The guys didn't believe that I could make it work in her girly room...I think that I did it with some over the top pink and purple flowers...hehe! Both comforter and quilt came from Target.

The color on that side wall is "Quilted Heart" from Valspar and is more accurately the color in the photo below. The wall decals are from EAD Designs and yes, these were done on orange peel textured walls so it is possible to use decals on these walls.

The mix of poms and chinese lanterns have been recycled from Kat's last 2 years worth of birthday parties. This year, she had a purple party. Last year it was pink so they both worked in her new rooms color scheme.

We have also recycled Kat's changing table to hold bins full of toys as she has gotten older.

Below you can see the vanity area of her bathroom that is just off her bedroom. We went a shade darker with the paint in her with "So Long Shadow" by Valspar.

The lamp below is from Target. The poms are Martha Stewart. The chinese lanterns and butterflies came from Hobby Lobby's spring/summer garden collection.

Throughout her room, I have a couple of Kat's cute little baby outfits that I have saved. I love the look of them hanging as decor. There are also several handmade pieces of art by me and my friends like those both in the photo below (my work.) These great hook holders were made by one of Ben's 1st Sgts when Kat was born and I just love them. There is this one here and the one shown in one of the photos above by the bookcase.

Another view looking from the painted wall into the bathroom/closet side of the room.

That's it for today's show & tell. Now I need to decide which room to show you next....

Kat's room is adorable and just love all the crafty things you made for it too. She's one lucky girl.
